11-15-15 Musconetcong River

Zach and I fished the Point Mt. stretch on the Musky this afternoon. I thought it was opening day of trout season, we had to wait our turn to fish a pool. It did clear out mid afternoon, thank God for Sunday football games. We dug out a dozen or so, with a few very big fish hooked. I'm glad to see that there are still a bunch of the bombers the State stocked, holding on. We did see a nice fish walked out on a leash. Bummer!  You can feel the pressure these fish…Read more

Headed into the Gorge and guided Jim P this morning, air temps was 37* water temp was 45*  and was running around 40 cfs . 10-24-15 South Branch of the Raritan

I had the pleasure of spending a few hours guiding, three of the most delightful young people I have ever met. well mannered individuals with a love for the outdoors and for each other. It was a day on the river I won't soon forget. As fast as I could explain the techniques, they soaked it up and it flowed right through them. Want to thank their dad, Doug for bringing them out with us!Read more

10-7-15 to 10-12-15 Salmon River

We hit a good run of fish on the first afternoon around the ball park area, followed them into the next afternoon.  The second and third days of the trip produced a good number of large kings.  It rained all day on the 9th, this brought a huge run of Cohos and Steelhead into the river. The swollen river made it easy traveling for them and they hit Pineville by Saturday afternoon. This made the upper river the place to be on Sunday and Monday.Read more

9-27-15 Tulpehocken and Little Lehigh

Joe p. and I fished the Tully in the AM. Action was slow but steady we netted at least 15 fish, two fish got my bugs and never showed themselves. We headed to the Little Lehigh after lunch, the fish were hungry and charged up at the same time. The water was as low and clear as I've seen it in a while. Caught a few rainbows that have started to spawn, they have the gravel rubbed up pretty good below the Kiddy Pool. I pretty sure that this Brown, is the Biggest I've…Read more

9-13-15 Michigan Salmon and Trout Trip (Pere Marquette River)

Today we floated a lower stretch of the PM, one that had quite a few salmon moving through it. We started out fishing for trout, and they were really on the sucker spawn and a caddis trailer.  As we moved down river we started seeing a few more redds and a few salmon working them. These areas all had trout working just below them. I would say that the trout ate the caddis 3 to 1 over the sucker spawn. Give it a few weeks and I would bet that switches back the other way. I can't…Read more

9-11-15 Michigan Salmon and Trout Trip (Pere Marquette River)

Joe S. and I headed out to Michigan for a weekend of Trout and Salmon fishing. We fished the Pere Marquette river near Baldwin MI. , a side note, The Baldwin river was the first American river to stocked with German brown Trout, around 1884. After seeing the river, I would bet it hasn't changed much since then. (Very Pristine) We fished a piece of the no Kill stretch, just below Baldwin this afternoon, and did very well with the resident Browns. We saw a few Salmon redd's that looked like they had been work over pretty recently,…Read more

9-6-15 West Branch of the Delaware

Fished the Hancock Bridge and Balls Eddy area, this morning. The fish were on small bugs, and with the amount of vegetation churned up in the water, it was a game of many casts and a lot of time cleaning your rig.Read more
